It was another one of those days. Sigh. Don't get me started. Just know that I was low on sleep and frustrated with the world. So I enlisted Kristin Hersh and friends to help me work it out. Holy cow, that woman has some serious pipes. And these songs are ferocious.
If you like Throwing Muses and heavier things, you'll want to give this album a listen.
Great album! I'm a *huge* fan of pretty much everything Kristin Hersh ever did. 50 Foot Wave is no exception -- this album is cathartic, intense, and wonderful. - Gordon
Stevie said it best: "Music is a world within itself/With a language we all understand"
Check out what I'm listening to and share the music *you* love.
I love music and turning people onto stuff I like. I've been a peripheral part of the music industry since I could legally hold a job, but it has never been my bread and butter. So I've never really been sucked into any crazy industry drama like payola. I pay attention to trends, but don't live and die by them.
I grew up with a mom who sang barbershop, a dad who played tuba when he was in school, and an older sister who managed metal bands, so I have some strange taste in music.
I'm always up for hearing about what other people like. So share a comment or drop me an email!
I hate to be negative, but don't waste your time telling me why I should hate an album or a band I've just recommended. I won't even finish reading the email. I don't have time for mean-spirited, hipper-than-thou attitude. I want to dig more music, not talk more smack.
On the other hand, PLEASE write to me about bands you DO like/love/want to have puppies with. I love hearing about bands from other people - even bands I already know. I like to hear why *you* like them. (It's all about the love, people.) If you can open my ears to something cool, that will make me happy.
